I passed Google interview and HC at L7 for an Engineering Management role but team matching could take some time and I expect some other offers to come in as well. Data seems hard to find, but I would appreciate if anyone had some idea about what an L7 offer would look like (base, initial grant, and refreshers). I did see the Ultimate post but I couldn't tell if those numbers included were base, bonus, plus initial grant,.or also included refresher as well.
Wow congrats. How many YOE and is this SWE?
Engineering Manager and 20+ yoe.
The range really is huge at L7, but as a new hire you really get to squeeze google (they have an extremely low rate of hires for L7 or above because there are so few qualified candidates so negotiation is in your power). Anecdotally, management actually gets paid slightly less than pure SWE at L7 but not by a ton. Shoot for above 700k TC and focus more on negotiating higher stock / sign on than on base salary since your base will automatically adjust up after your first yearly review, and salary is more centrally planned at Google than stock (so a lower starting salary will quickly be aligned to normal, but your stock grant is 4 years and won’t be brought up as quickly if not negotiated ahead of time)
Welp, got the offer and was seriously underwhelmed. Still negotiating so not going to give exact numbers but when factoring everything, including refresh, averages to $610k/yr.
F that!
Yeah, if I was looking for a sign about whether to go to FB or G, I think I got it.
What's your current level at Wayfair?
What was the L7 EM interview like?
Are the offers you got were for roles in the west coast or in the east coast (Boston)? If they were for the west coast, do you think you would get lower offers from FB or G if the role was in Boston?

Are you managing managers or it’s L7 managing ICs? Thanks
Did you check Levels.fyi?
I did, and it's a wide range of.$590k to $998k or something like that. There does seem to be a cluster around mid to high 600's, so maybe that's a place to start.
