What to expect on Day 1 at Amazon?
Joining Amazon in 2 weeks. Curious to know what to expect on Day 1. What kind of laptop do they give to employees? Is there a choice? Please no ๐ answers and that laughing photo.

Expect that your appraisals to be due at end of the business day. Talk to your manager about your performance and ask him to not to put you in dev list on Day 2.

Laptop depends on role. Unless youโre in a Eng or SDE role, expect a windows laptop. SDE and Eng roles can opt for a mac. Your first day will mainly be filled with presentations on the culture at Amazon followed by lunch with your HM. Enjoy the initial downtime as you will likely never get that back unless you role change. Congratulations on making it and remember, itโs always day 1.

I just ate ๐ on day 1 and learned about Day 1. Also itโs always going to be Day 1, so thereโs no real answer to your question
Expect Day 2
