What to pursue?

I'm on the younger end of life, and beginning to major in finance and economics. in the current economy is this a good decision, and what would be the best career paths to pursue afterwards? I've considered a career in corporate finance, though I would love to be in business management and leadership. I love the thought of managing a fund, the honestly I'm not sure how much fulfillment I would get and how much I'd be working with other people. Where would you suggest I look, and what opportunities are there to newly graduated finance and economics majors?

Def reach out to companies. Intern if you can. Get on a trading floor - Contact folks through linked in. Our younger workers are ultra aggressive and work sophomore and junior year summers. We conduct interviews weekly. There are so many directions you can go. Go online and check out job banks. Yes, the industry is consolidating but still very much a great career. Go for it. Be brave. Be bold!
