Random thought question. This has me worrying sometimes and makes me anxious. Considering backup plans, just in case. Maybe I can take up Tutoring but I am bad at it. TC: Low for Bay Area YOE: 3 outside of US, 1 in US
If you are blind in only one eye, why can’t you be a software engineer still?
You can. I am blind in one eye in the sense that my brain does not the input from my left eye. Am developer.
Work at Blind
you can still code.... your jump shot won't be as good though
Easy. Specialize in accessibility for large software companies. Make sure it works well with accessibility tools / software.
One eye is enough to leetcode
I was close to this. Luckily the doctors were able to detect and prevent it.
I am blind in one eye. The biggest problem is that my good eye's vision is not good enough to drive a car. I left the USA because not being able to drive deprives you of a huge amount of opportunities. You're basically a second class human being.
What about living in cities large enough where you don’t need to drive? Many Americans in cities live car-free lifestyles
I'm sure they do, but when I was young I couldn't just choose specific cities to apply to work in. It was easier to move to another country where the default is to not have a car. (Speaking a foreign language all day is nothing compared to living without a car in the US.)
