Hey friends, I’m starting at Apple next week and wondering if anyone would be willing to share tips and tricks for doing well there, especially in your first 90 days. It is a non-technical, research role - contract. This will be my first job in tech and in the Bay Area so advice doesn’t need to be Apple-specific. Thank you in advance!
Do you mind sharing what role so the feedback can be relevant to you??
Are you starting full time or a contractor role?
OP has mentioned FT
Learn how to hold the phone correctly. You’ll go far.
Add role details to get non-generic suggestions. Also, TC or GTFO, pretty basic Blind manners.
Sorry, new here. What is TC?
Total compensation = fixed + rsu + bonus
There are a lot of Apple specific things that you will learn over time. For example, all the different internal websites and internal Mac OS apps. But no one expects you to know those things at the start. But do ask lots of questions and take lots of notes. And eventually you’ll get the hang of it
Are internal apps only available on iPhone or Android as well?
They have some internal android apps but most of the internal apps are just websites. Someone of them are Mac OS apps but they’ll give you a MacBook. If you’re working on iPhone they will give you an iPhone without SIM card to develop on
it’s a non-technical research role.
80% of doing well is the basics — show up on time (for the day and to meetings), be well groomed, pay attention, ask questions, and try hard. The rest will come with time.
