Read this and I’m shocked !!! Even as a man how can one accept it !! Pretty sure we all have women in our lives that work !! https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-16/goldman-sachs-pays-female-staff-56-less-than-male-colleagues
And what’s the legal way to do that ?
I’d just assume there is a pay gap. Let the company prove there is not.
I guess but you’d waste time, energy and money in litigation to get them to do that !
Are females paid much less in the same job title? If they just compared aggregated data, the result may not be right if number of women joining spiked in the recent years as more female employees will be juniors. Also if women are holding low paying jobs like receptionist more, the average will be lower naturally.

@Lessonzz - yes please read the article before making such comments ..... and if statisticians, authorities , jurisdiction and people in general were as stupid as you assume them to be then (going by your logic ) we should wage a war of pay gap amongst men too ... cause a male receptionist gets paid less than a male CEO too ! 🙄
So many factors involved. Years experience, performance reviews, leadership, attitude, etc. The tech field has no way to show one-to-one comparison.
Yeah but there is a bracket for each title ... 5-10% deviation in base can be justified based on performance but not 50+% !!! If a female employee with the same title doesn’t perform as well as the male then why did you hire her in the first place and why don’t you fire her base on performance issue now instead of paying them half ??
If you don't like your pay, go somewhere else. Quit being a loser blaming gender/blackness for everything that don't go your way
The article actually states that there is a vast majority of men in the high position and highly lucrative titles. Whereas women are more represented in the low position low paying jobs. So this is not exactly a gender pay gap issue, but rather a sex based discrimination. The question is why Goldman doesn't promote the women as often as the men.
That’s the point. And Blackrock do equally promote men and women based on their skills and performance and I see women sometimes gets more opportunities more than men, because they want women enablement!
Wouldn't it make sense for GS to hire all female staff and save billions of paid salary costs every year?
Percentages can make anything look good or bad. Where is the raw data - for example, how many men do they have, in what functions, and how does that compare to the women?
Goldman calculated this according to the rules set out by the UK legislation that required them to report this measure. In order to have parity, a company has to both have equal representation of men and women at all levels of the company (parity in power) AND pay equally for equal work (parity in pay).
Never knew Bloomberg is so click bait. Goldman has less females in senior positions. What a crap title to pander. They even go on to quote Goldman that they pay equally for equal roles.
Ask everybody in the company what their salary is.
That’s kind of rude ( as per the stigma attached to money talks ) and never works ! And what if someone goes and tells HR that so and so is asking around for salary info ?
