Is it normal to wear a suit? Tie? Does it seem out of place to be wearing anything nicer than a button up shirt? It's been a long time since I've interviewed.
Just wear whatever you are comfortable in. No one is going to judge you on your dress.
Partially true. When a candidate comes dressed in a suit and tie, my first thought is “what are you trying to compensate for?’. Most def wear jeans.
This is what I am afraid when I go to interview. There are people in the opposite spectrum thinking like you !
If it makes you confident, go ahead!
At a very bare minimum - pants are required.
Go with the Flo 😅
Jeans and T-shirt is the universally accepted Bay Area dress for interviews . Don’t be too formal or too casual. Whatever happens, Don’t wear tie.
Jeeze, even though it's Silicon Valley, some attention to dress is important. You are asking the white tube sock wearing crowd here for fashion advice. No. No suit or tie. Trousers, coupled w nice shoes and a polo at the minimum. Compliment your dress w a nice classic looking watch. I prefer Hamilton. Dress for your body type too. No skinny, trendy pants/shirts unless you have the physique for it. Else you just look like a wrapped sausage.
Agree on the Skinny, I do have the physique though :-). Feels great to be able to wear the most comfortable pants I've ever had.
I always went with a tshirt and jeans. Mind you the tshirt was not ironed.
Jeans and tucked in dress shirt with sleeves rolled up.
Business casual will get you through both extremes. Makes you look like an approachable professional human.
Dress pants shirt and shoes.
