When can you get promoted at Amazon?
How many review cycles/promotion opportunities are there per year at Amazon?
Are you talking about engineering or non-engineering roles? It's two different answers. Engineering is the only part of the company that has standardized promotion tracks.
One chance per quarter.
Note that performance review is once a year, but promotion cycle is 4x/year.
My bad, thought OP was asking about the trajectory. Of course there is the OLR and off cycle promotions, but no one can expect to be promoted at Amazon.

Once every quarter. Personally know people whogot promoted in each of last 3 quarters
Once every quarter up to L6. L7 and above is Q1 and Q3 only. Salary review is once per year in Q1 unless you are promoted - in which case you could feasibly have 2.

You are eligible for promotion twice per year, but only write performance reviews once per year. At least that's how it worked before I left 3 years ago. Edit: a comment below actually says 4x per year... I didn't see anyone get promoted in Q2 or Q4 but it's likely changed.
