I was surprised that the average tenure is something like 3 years at Google, thought it would be longer. It is supposed to be good compensation, good wlb, good benefits, good name value. Do most people just hop to FB, Netflix, and top unicorns for more $$ and/or more interesting work? Maybe try their shot at their own company? Curious to hear from Xooglers / people currently at Google.
I’m sure it’s weighted down because of all the people who just joined and have less than one year of tenure.
Googles sales pay is sub par in cloud and they won’t win in enterprise unless they fix their comp problems. I’ve yet to hear of multiple sales reps making a million in commission, I’m sure devs here would probably get pissed off if/when the day comes. It’s a swe/pm culture and many from sales have left already. A better gauge would be the tenure of swe/pm’s as they’re the most valued at the company.

Yup. What's the source for average tenure? People often calculate it as average tenure of current employees which isn't a good metric for growing companies.
Google doesn't really pay the highest. Much more upside joining unicorns or faster paced companies
