Where to go in NYC?

Need an advice on where to go in the NYC area. Just got work authorization, currently to the south from NYC, current TC=base=157k (no bonuses/equity/etc). Looking to move to NYC. 10yoe, been everywhere from QA to backend dev to full stack to devops to engineering manager. Really good at thee devopsy stuff, built ci/cd in current place from scratch for 200+ devs, managed teams up to 10 people. Mostly on manager side now but care a lot about people. Don't feel myself confident but team seems to be happy with me. Looking to grow further in leadership. Not bragging - just trying to give context, sorry if sounds like shit.

Want to go to NYC and get a decent TC with base>my current to compensate for higher prices/taxes. Would rather do something meaningful than wiping my bosses ass but want proper comp so not looking for super inspiring but low paying jobs. Fine with remote if comp is good enough.

Anyone been there? Any advice? Or anyone needs a guy like me? Or should I just FAANG?

Thanks!

Thanks! How is it at Uber? I heard that culture is not really great but maybe it's outdated/non-relevant info?

There’s a lot of salty people right now because of the stock, but I believe it will blow over. Otherwise the culture has changed immensely for the best

Cadillac.... wait they moved back to Detroit. Tons of cash at the investment banking outfits. Literally tons, they get paid to play with the economy.
