My wife and me will be working in Seattle downtown area. I need suggestions for rental apartments based on following : 1. Commute 2. Rent 3. Quality of Neighborhood 4. Apartment sq feet area (1b1b) 5. Easy access to daily needs
Agree. Is mercer island an option? I commute from Mercer island and itâs not bad
If you donât want to cross the bridge on your commute every day you could consider living north of Seattle, Bothell, Woodinville, Lake City, etc
The commute from Bothell and Woodinville will be at least an hour on each direction.
If you're going to SLU , check out freemont neighborhood. The commute will be much better, apartments are cheaper compared to SLU. Not sure about other things in SLU
Do a search for âwhere to live seattle.â There are many posts on this topic already
Bellevue is basically suburbs, if you like suburban living it's great. DT bellevue is an urban suburb. You can then walk to commercial areas but much more expensive, and still fairly dead at night. And as stated commute is not great, but depends where in Seattle you are working
Bellevue is boring. Several of my Indian co-workers prefer it, but I wouldn't like to live there and commuting is annoying. I'd get an apartment downtown Seattle somewhere. Once you've been here for a year, you'll have a sense of the city and your routines.
Try Fremont, wallingford or eastern capital hill
Queen Anne fits your requirements. Whatâs your rent $ range?
1200-1600 1B1B
It all depends on your comfort/amenities/preferences level and where you might be moving from but even $1600 wonât get you much in and around downtown.

Bellevue wins in every category except for ease of commuting
Bellevue is incredibly boring
Boring == not filled with shit on the streets and roaming homeless anywhere OP, live somewhere nice. You can always visit Seattle if you need to. You don't need to sleep in the filth too.
