[Seeking for advice]

I have $150k sitting in a robo-advisor, but thinking of the possibility of investing them somewhere else. I’d like to leverage debt and get a higher long-term impact of these funds. What would you recommend to do? Maybe leveraging it buying a down-payment for a place to do Airbnb or house flipping?

Context: Living in Seattle area, PM, TC: $250k, credit score of 800 and already renting below market price (i.e. not worth to move).

For all those who are saying robo advisors are the best, what makes you say so? I am managing my 401k on my own since last 2 years and my ytd is 39%+ and last year it was 25%+. I have been able to increase my 401k balance to 115k+ with just 3 years of contribution.

Wealthfront for example charges 0.25% (after 10k managed free; let me know if you want a referral code). They do transactions without fees, so it might be cheaper than doing it yourself. There’s also the time-saver aspect. Unless you’re a professional investor, your time is best spent doing other things than managing your money :)

I hope you understand how much it is going to cost you in the long run coz of that .25% fees and how transaction fee would look like a minuscule compared to 0.25% of your portfolio.

0.25% is nothing. Normal advisors charge 1-2%. Your own time spent doing research and managing your money (and stress) is worth more than that.

Noob question: How do I manage my 401k myself ? Currently 401k is managed by Vanguard. I also have a personal stock account in Vanguard and other places, can I transfer my 401k to it and use it ? I am assuming it will be some other form ot account as 401k will grow tax free, etc

@PMM’d - 2 years doesn’t make a trend. Try 10. May be 20. If you can sustain that over a decade or two, you are in the wrong business 😀

I got so much out of NIO and QTT these last two days. Maybe not a good long-term strategy but if you’re feeling lucky, doubling your money every once in a while is fairly simple to do.

Any Chinese companies in the coming IPO pipeline?

What’s strange is that it seems like NIO went IPO to raise capital to fuel the growth in China but not in the US. Any thoughts on this?

Keep it in the robo advisor. It’s your best option because it gives you great diversification. You’re doing the best thing (as long as your goal is long-term investment)

Things like Wealthfront. They automatically invest in your money in an efficient, diversified portfolio that includes stocks, bonds, commodities, etc. It’s been proven that this is the best strategy for long-term investment.

      I’ll dm you a referral code :)

You are missing the point of long-term investing. You probably picked the right horses and made a lucky bet.

Divide 150k into 10-15 parts, select 1 top company & 1 growth promising company in each sector, invest 70%-30% of each part in those companies of each sector.
    Look for long term...5-10 years.

Definitely not in the bank. Choices are really only real estate or stock market. And those do come with risk, so investor beware
