I think I just had a nose bleed figuring out Disney structure. Which arm will build Netflix rival? - BAMTech Media - The Walt Disney Company Corporate - The Walt Disney Studios - Media Networks - ... something else? Any advice on how to learn more and comment if it’s a good group to work at? Hows culture across different groups? Thanks! https://www.google.com/amp/s/techcrunch.com/2018/03/14/disney-announces-a-strategic-reorganization-of-its-business/amp/
FAANG -> FAADG ?
The (new) group that will build the Netflix rival is called "Direct To Consumer" and it also includes bamtech, all ad sales, and international Disney Channels. It's separate from Media Networks which is now just ABC, ESPN, and the domestic Disney Channels. So confusing.
BAMTech is building. Lots of open jobs, check the career site. Careful what you wish for.
Bamtech is under a new group within Direct to Consumer called Disney Streaming Services now. Building the app, postings are on the Disney career sites, though you’d need to be careful if that’s the specific product you want to work on, lots of other products with postings.
Bamtech will grow under DTCI but then cuts as is the Disney way

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
Probably BAMTech. Although their primary focus is live streaming, they have the infrastructure already for static streaming. I work for a direct competitor and I don't like our future compared to theirs.
