Which Offer Would you Take (SF)

All of the offers have similar TC and benefits. I wanna work on a great team, but not work too hard. I'm a full stack web developer with 8 YOE and a Senior SWE offer from all. Explain your reasoning below if you have a sec. TC ranges from $300K - $400K with LinkedIn being the lowest.

Similar benefits? How so?

Microsoft xdDW77 OP Oct 1, 2019

Similar with regards to health insurance and relocation. Similar enough that it's not worth scoring individually, in my opinion.

Care to share TC at Linkedin and Splunk ?

Microsoft xdDW77 OP Oct 1, 2019

Well LinkedIn was actually the lowest TC with $300K first year and less after that. Splunk is more like $350K every year. I didn't want TC to cloud peoples' decision making.

That’s a great offer ! Congrats!!

LinkedIn for great WLB and stability!

Why is no one voting for Yelp? Any particular reason?

Veritas thetruthin Oct 1, 2019

I wonder why too, but I believe it is because it is either smaller or not growing fast enough which can limit you in the long run. I believe yelp is cool and the fact they are a python shop even better. Also they are known for great wlb and healthcare benefits.

Because Yelp is a garbage company that shakes down small businesses like some kind of second rate mob.

Should provide at least range of TCs per Blind rules

Microsoft xdDW77 OP Oct 1, 2019

Sorry I've followed the rules now.

Google d0ntb33vil Oct 1, 2019

I voted LinkedIn before seeing it was the worst but would still vote LinkedIn now.

Try negotiating to get the linkedin offer up.

Microsoft xdDW77 OP Oct 1, 2019

I've tried my best. What do you like about LinkedIn compared to the others?

LI has Michelin starred free food

Dropbox food is ten times better

Where’s twitter? Did u interview with us?

LinkedIn cvxU82 Oct 1, 2019

In terms of WLB, my team is personally quite lax, I work from about 9-4 everyday and can choose to work from home if I want. Job security is great here as basically no one gets PIP'd or fired. People here tend to collaborate here more esp when I compare it to my previous work at FB. Free food, great benefits, great WLB, and most importantly great co-workers definitely made the transition worthwhile. That said, look into your team at LI and make sure its a product that excites you. I hope you choose us :)

Are u senior or staff? Can senior be tech lead?

LinkedIn Rats00 Oct 5, 2019

In terms of engineering, LinkedIn tends to rebuild the wheel and being very active on open source community. Highly valued on craftsmanship versus execution. Good thing is quality of work but at the cost of not working on features that impacts customers. Over engineering is very common here from my observation. Being engineering driven almost 100%. Dev tools suck compared with Google or amazon.
