Stay away, The new cto has ruined SC tech and the VP on the business side and industrial engineering is a joke. Tech has been overrun with the cto Expedia buddies . None of which have SC knowledge. I would not want to be on the non technical side as you will not have good tech support.

That's what you do.. Right? You've this Poking business everywhere. BTW, shut the fuck off and mind your own business. OP has his/her own brain and he'll figure it out!

I would steer clear of Nordstrom, for now. Amazon is likely to provide the most opportunity at scale.

Pay is low at Nordstrom and HR VPs are insanely powerful and overly empowered. It’s a weird set up and mass growing pains as they try and figure out how to keep the lights on.

Depending on which supply chain team at Amazon, maybe say goodbye to life before you join

Apple and Amazon. See and contribute to the bigger supply chain titans in the industry and get paid well to do it (plus the resume stamp)

I know Target is trying to bust ass to improve supply chain to compete with Amazon, so there could be some good opportunities there

I know there’s an office in Sunnyvale. I wanna say it’s primarily Data Science but I could be mistaken

Nordstrom and Starbucks are like going back in time 25 years. Very traditional approach to problem solving, no innovation or desire and location for both is a tough commute unless you live downtown.

Syas who? Amazon's Retail is in loss. You're only surviving with AWS; not with retail. And, the companies you've mentioned, are way ahead in profit in Retails and they know how to do business.

BTW, Nordstrom and Amazon's offices are next to each other. That means, it's also tough to commute for you! I see Amazon and Nordstrom employees travelling in the same bus at any given time.

I was at Nordstrom. Super traditional HR politics and control. Recruiting and comp and trying anything new or remotely experimental was forbidden. Very very anti progressive and Amazon provides a shuttle that drops me off one mile from home for free. Not trying to hurt your feelings just a world of difference, believe me. Starbucks and Nordstrom employee’s go back and forth and mimic each other’s policy ideas. It’s weird. Old dudes at the top at Nordstrom should shake things up.

Agreed to some extent; however, I also left Nordstrom couple of months back and at a FAANG now.
But, not agreed with your view of anti progressive or trying new was forbidden. The Org I belonged to, allowed me every possible way to experiment and provide new solutions. Not sure about your Org.

Still, half of the AMZ employees travel via same bus with other Nordstrom employees. Few choose for shuttle and few with Car pool with mix of different companies.

  • The Home Depot omgppl
The Home Depot is doing wonders with the One Supply Chain initiatives. Not as competitive as Amazon and in a much cheaper city (Atlanta).

Wayfair is doing some cool stuff in SC. Get a couch in two days or a pool table or a carport. 😂 All Boston - based.
