my entire career i worked at a startup with churn and burn mentality. Then I went to FAANG and had a similar experience. My current company has many merits but I don't feel like we're aligned from a business or operational perspective. i am wondering which good companies want talented and intelligent employees but are ok with 35-45 hr work weeks?
Based on my own experience, Google for sure.
Amazon all the way maayyyyyne?
Can you elaborate? I have a BA, am in PM and analytics. Trying to move more to a product role. I like everything I learn about Google but I hear it's hard to get in without a STEM or MBA.
👋
Google, Apple
It isn’t the company it is the department.
Good point. If OP joins a FAANG, wlb of teams exist on a very wide spectrum. Picking the right team is a skill and luck.
Come to intel . Good WLB across teams
Tesla
I am sensing the sarcasm
Apple SWE. We exploit the blood and sweat of hardware folks and have great WLB and decent pay.
Microsoft can be pretty good, depending on what team you're on.
I think Uber falls into this category, don’t know too many folks doing over 45/week. Might depend on the org though, as with any company.
