This startup has 15$/day for free food takeout anywhere you want in NYC. Do you guys prefer that or Google cafeteria food?
$15 per day per meal, or total? I eat 3 meals a day at work, but I think $15 would only pay for one take out meal
I think itâs 15$ for lunch, if you stay late enough I think you get another 15$ for dinner.
I think if it was $15 per meal and they had a system where you select what you want online in a simple tool and then it gets delivered to a pick up spot in the office (ex: a micro kitchen) I'd count that as about equal in value to me, if it was anything less than that I'd prefer to stick with the current system of cafeterias
That sounds like my previous company. $15 doesnât cover much, believe it or not (if delivery fees are included)
Cafeteria good eventually gets boring no matter what rotation they use. I'd love to have a takeout subsidy.
$15 is a bit low for delivery in NYC. It may (or may not!) get you a sandwich after taxes and tip/delivery fees but thatâs about it. Cafeteria may work out better and even provide greater variety, depending on how itâs setup. I donât have experience with Google cafe, but it is very easy to be better than most cheap New York delivery places.
$15 in NYC might buy you a slice of bread.

I visit Google Kirkland office once a month over lunch with my wife and kids. It is something but not tasty. If you order $15 meal and pay $3 tip every tip thats like $18 every weekday. Round it to average of $20. There are 5* 52 = 260 office days a year. For 260 work days you'll be paying $5200. That's what not so tasty free food is at Google Kirkland.

Depends on which Google cafe. Headquarters sucks, but satellite offices have pretty good food imo (Sunnyvale, LA)
