If the difference in money factor leads to a 9$ difference in monthly payment , is it really worth getting the 39month lease ?

0.00075 vs 0.00076 is the MF

  • I think 37.5 months is the sweet spot.

You’re also going to have to pay the 4th year car registration fees on the 39. Factor that into your analysis when comparing the mf rates between the two periods.

Also b2b warranty usually expires at 36 months mark.

Why would you lease at all if you cared about saving $9?

If it extends to winter pick tht option. Rents are typically higher in summer/ fall

if your lease ends in the winter, it’s easier for you to find another place at a lower rate when your lease expires.

I came off of a 39mo lease. Annoying to pay a few hundred dollars more for the 4th yr registration, not to mention cant deduct from taxes because 10k cap is easily passed by CA income taxes. That and the 3yr bumper to bumper, I don't see myself doing it again

Before you maturity date you can extend your lease and pay month to month (usually up to 6 month) without obligation for 6m term. This is a great option while looking for a new deal. You keep your payment for extended period.

If you will do 39mo then this makes sense, just assuming more and more risk with time on some out of warranty issue hitting you

Have you run it through the leasehackr calculator? Their scoring and the total cost should give some idea

But as someone else mentioned, the extra registration fee on the 39 month is interesting
