Neither is prestigious or impressive to anyone. Not engineers and not regular people. So pick the one where you can build better experience.

Walmart is the #1 brick and mortar retailer in the world. Capital One is the #5 credit card company.

Walmart isn't the #1 e-commerce but they still do interesting things.

OP, I will advise you do some research instead of trusting opinionated people of Blind, including me. Pinterest recently hired WalmartLabs CTO to head their engineering. Check out the pedigree of the people who founded Walmart Labs. Check out LinkedIn for present and past employees of Walmart Labs to see how many PhD CS you find, from top schools like UIUC, Stanford etc. How many ex Walmart Labs engineers are now at Uber Google Facebook Airbnb etc and at what position. Check h1bdata website to check how much Walmart Labs pays in the bayArea and compare the same with Amazon. Then decide for your own

S2a7 yeah I did some research, if not PhD from Stanford, Walmart has many people with a master's in computer science, capital one hardly has master's degrees with their associates, they hire shit in the market

Right there! So I think it's helping you to decide. Good. Btw, There are quite a few PhD CS now, and there were many more in the past as well. Anyways choose wisely and, good luck bro.

Also if one of them is using azure or aws that’s a big plus. I’m at Msft so obv go with azure. Cloud experience is big

@EfCB87, not sure who told you that, lot of companies use aws, azure & gcp but that is not a advantage or anything.

OP was looking for which company would look better on his resume. My opinion which might be different then yours is to go with the better project or the one that gives him cloud development exposure as I believe that would look best on his resume. But it depends where he wants to be in the future and also what he enjoys doing. Cloud experience might not be an advantage but it does look good on a resume which seems to be his goal

It is funny when people jump to conclusion without searching for facts. Work culture could be not up to what you expecting or it is too generic to say for big companies. Walmart is retailer and that is their most relevant identity but you talking about half trillion USD revenue company, which has huge IT wing, look like you might be reading about IT in Walmart in 1990. Btw read this gle.com/amp/s/kkkk://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/amazon-alphabet-and-walmart-were-top-it-spenders-in-2018-11547754757

If you want to leave Capital One, Walmart Labs is not where you want to go. And Arkansas is definitely NOT where you want to go. You should just stay put at Cap1 and keep trying for better opportunities.

Before it was Walmart.com it was Walmart Labs, and before that it was a digital startup called Kosmix

Both doesn’t matter, what skills you will gain and what latest technologies you will work on will matter the most if it is not FANG.

Leetcode and system design is the only thing that matters at FANG. Your current work practically adds nothing to on-site outcome.
