Which offer to accept?

New college grad. MS EE. Two internships. 1. Houston/ 85k base/ 4K annual bonus/ involves lots of traveling (50-70%) 2. Portland/ 100k base/ 7k annual bonus/ 5k sign on/ 3. Santa Clara/ 87k base/ 5k sign on/ (this is ridiculous I know)

Good for you! Portland or Houston. Not an amazing city, but 100K will get you far up there. If you like traveling, Houston would be worth it. Living well in the bay on 87K is not attainable... not worth it.

Never lived in that part of the US (Portland area) but I have been to Houston and it’s very huge with lots of driving. Not sure if I want to live there. Bad public transportation too . What do you think of Portland?

@chip_monk i have only visited Portland. but a lot of tech is moving to Portland, so although it is a bit small, things are picking up. Good food, reasonable weather, close to nature and city life. another plus (personally) is that it isn’t a tech-only community, so you will meet a lot of different types of people. Friends of mine have moved there for tech jobs and love it.

Portland Atleast it is nice in summers Houston is horrible place to live. If you dont care for money much, bay isnt all that bad

Bay is worse even if you are making more money. It's ridiculously expensive, high taxes and dry to count few.

Thats why I wrote “if you dont care for money”
