The numbers seem legit, they are pretty close to the numbers I got from Uber and Google. Also OP seems to be diligently replying to all comments and showing seriousness on the advices. So unlikely to be fake according to me.

Btw, I heard that Cruise Automation doesn’t pay well, so I canceled their onsite. Why you went there from FB ?

Wow, how is the wlb there? What’s your YOE ?

Yeah Never been built before , but you aren’t the only one working on it. Uber, lyft, waymo, Tesla all are on it

Sure, you can do it. I thought I could never be able to crack any interview, but FB’s crazy work load forced me to prepare and here we are !

Thanks for kind words man. What’s easy for you is very difficult for me. You are getting all these offers because you have special something other than ability to Leetcode fast enough.

That’s just your state of mind. I failed my initial interviews pretty miserable as I didn’t do enough preparation.

Prepare well and you should be good. It’s all about learning and growing.

I am a system generalist with some distributed systems knowledge

Could you enlighten us on your career trajectory? With that YOE, you reached L5 pretty quickly

      OP
It’s easy to get promoted at FB if you are willing to compromise your wlb and focus on the right problems.

For the interviews I said the recruiters I won’t bother interviewing if they don’t offer me E5 equivalent. I focused hard on system design and behavioral interviews

My work at FB helped me, as I was working on an open source high scale distributed systems

Congrats! Very good offers! Google hires L5 with 3.5 YoE? How did you get them to interview you at that level?

G recruiter was pushing hard for L4. I told him L5 or GTFO. He gave in.

Bachelor's? Are you mature for your age? Not many 24/25 year olds have the maturity to be a senior

    • Facebook blinder$
      OP
I have Masters. I am mature, people tell me “I look like 28 but am 50 mentally” as I am boring as F
      May 14
    • Google fneucnc
Are you 28? Then I guess L5 is very possible. Anyways congrats!!

      OP
      Yes, 28. Thanks man.

How are the Google cloud teams in Seattle in terms of WLB ?
      May 14
    • Google fneucnc
I have no idea, WLB differs team by team, but in general the culture denounces heavy workloads. Coming from startup doing 60h a week I was shocked that email/chat goes completely silent after 6pm and on the weekends. I got used to it though.

Take the Uber offer if the number of shares is based on stock price at the time you join. With the current stock price, their upside is much more than downside. Otherwise, take Google

Did the recruiters say anything about refreshers? I heard it’s minimal to non-existent at Uber.
    May 14 2
    • Facebook blinder$
      OP
Recruiters are pretty vague about refreshers. Uber guys might know it better
      May 14
    • Uber fuen
Should be written in offer letter.
Pre-IPO it was dollar amount. For 5a I believe a typical refresh amount was 105k over 4 years.

Wow those are some amazing offers. Congratulations. Considering Uber's current stock price, would they be able to up the RSUs?
    May 14 2
    • Facebook blinder$
      OP
Uber said base and stocks are non-negotiable.

I got the RSU in terms of $ value not unit count , so current stock price won’t matter until I join

comp/TC not much difference between them and you cannot be sure which equity does well in longer run, do consider work/learning, commute and team you work too.

Holy shit dude. With 3.5Yoe, these are not only great offers but also great levels. I am coming up at 3Yoe now and it's inspiring.

I wouldn't go to G. If you look at the recent earnings, they are going to have to keep a lid on comp. If they don't, your RSUs are dead money. Which means smaller raises and less approvals for promo. If you go there you won't have any serious advancement career wise for a long stretch. WLB will be awesome, and you could use the time to learn, good colleagues for that purpose. But WLB at Uber isn't shit like it used to and there should be some uplift on equity. Good luck!

    • American Express bugger!
I think you already know the answer. Uber is out. Between Google and twitter benefits, stock, wlb, brand name all weigh towards Google.
      May 14
    • Facebook OlUncle
Google brand isn't what it once was, it's also synonymous with pedantic low productivity engineers. You've already got FB, I wouldn't worry about that part. Anyway, I'm an Xoogler as well. Not saying it's a bad choice, but don't do it for the brand. Do it for the access to senior ICs that you can learn from with a good WLB.

I'm a former Uber employee. PIP is pretty much gone under the new leadership (well, some people says PIP still exists technically, but you have to work very hard to get there, AND you must not in a minority group). Lots of rest-and-vester at Uber. And that's why I quit

      Sounds like superb work WLB.

How are the raises and promotions ?
      May 15
    • Airbnb urT5ns
Uber's promotion process is largely borrowed from Google - manager nomination + committee review

    What about bonus?
    May 14 3
    • Facebook blinder$
      OP
What bonus ? I mentioned the sign on bonus already. If you are talking about annual bonus, that’s as per company policy.
      May 14
    • OpenText TSLAstock🤣
If your offers are real, they would indicate the target annual bonus...
      May 14
    • Facebook blinder$
      OP
Lol, they are real. What I meant was that part doesn’t vary within the company. To let go of your doubts, here are the percentages:

      Google, Uber - 15%, Twitter-20%
