Could you elaborate on why? Seems like a nice way to jump to the principal league . No vesting, relatively low risk if it sucks.

Try to get a better deal from amazon or elsewhere, given you have all those offers. Current offers, seems like Microsoft is the best option.

No huawei unless you speak mandarin/Cantonese and can travel to China. Otherwise you will be lost.

I hear that a lot. I wonder how much of that is true and how much is myth.
If it's true if sounds scary.

Its true. It was very evident in the interviews. So much so the hiring manager just kind of told it himself that “ its a possible concern that i cant speak mandarin” . I never wrote back to them again.

Have you tried getting amazon to compete with huawei’s offer though? Amz can do better than 220 tc , if they really wanna get you. Also what team would you be joining here?

It is scary. I would advise anyone to stay away unless the position is high up or a skill that they can’t do without.

If you add the benefits gaps, which is ~ 20k real money (ESPP+401k+medical/HSA, etc.) your current microsoft TC beats all of them except Huawei. But I'd negotiate with Amazon pointing out that their offer ain't good enough and ask if you can try L6 interview or they have to up their game because of above gaps. Otherwise get FB and G or stay at current.

Yes, always negotiate. If the hiring manager backs you it opens up some possibilities. My amazon hm was willing to go to the compensation committee to fight for an approval to my ask. Point is, they have processes for the scenarios. You just have to try to work with them to make them walk the walk and stay positive and confident.

Considering other MS benefits like ESPP, 401k match, medical, commute (assuming seattle and u live on the eastside) your MS TC beats Amazon. I would suggest waiting for an year or until u get to 64 and try coming in as L6 with 300k+ TC

All other offers would expire by then though.

No big companies offer truly expires within a month or more. Don't worry. If it expires and you go back to the recruiter, it's just a team matching exercise and possibly one or two easy informational with the new team.

How hard is to pass the l6 loop given that I passed the l5?

L6 loop is entirely different from L5. Focus more on system design and leadership qualities.

I see. So I may not get too much leetcode, but many design questions.
Wow, those make me nervous. There is no right or wrong answer, and my nervousness gets me to appear less confident , structured but I do know my stuff.
      Will need time to practice.

      Thanks!

The answer is obvious. Go with Chinese. If you don't like it after 1 year, switch. Probably you are considering others because of the company name. However, that's not everything. Even if you work at the best name company, your team might suck, your manager might suck etc. One way or the other, you might as well want to switch. When it comes to switch, how much you make at the time matters more rather than where you come from.

That's a very valid point. Is it really true hough? What is that matters during a switch?
