Which smart tv boxes are great ones to buy?
from roku, etc which ones (specific model too) are good ones in terms of fast boot up time, easily accessible and doesnt take more time to stream each episode from Netflix/Prime/Hbo/Hulu edit: and cheaper ones too, not >150$
I like my TCL tv with a Roku built in. However, it seems like they start to really slow down after a year or two.
That's why I hate smart TVs. No support a year in. I'd rather just buy a streaming stick every couple years or so.
In terms of user experience. Apple TV. But I’ll say it’s one of the worst products of apple

Nvidia shield is worth it. Hosting Plex is killer. My chromecast ultra, Roku, fire TV are all gathering dust.
Roku is probably the best, Chromecast is also worth looking at. Would avoid Fire TV and Apple TV.
I have good experiences with Roku and Firetv. Have both in different rooms. Chromecast sucks because it's tied to your phone. At least it used to be, so I replaced it with Roku. Have firetv in another room and it's good. Payback is flawless and provides access to all the streaming services.
Zero complaints with Roku.
Fire stick devices have good CEC support — you plug them in to your HDMI port and get to continue using your normal TV remote. Roku devices have inexplicable slowdowns in my experience. I’ve had 3 Roku generations of products, and after about 2 years, I feel like I’m navigating a sea of molasses, plus their interface is kinda childish looking. My GF had a Chromecast and I replaced it with a Fire stick. I didn’t like having to keep my laptop or phone handy to cast content to my TV. It makes me feel too connected to work. My AppleTV is meh. I’m an Apple fanboi, but since my Amazon Echo is already integrated with iTunes, the AppleTV benefit is less for me.

Mi box S is a great 4K Android TV streaming box at $40-$50 - love it. 4K Fire Stick is similarly spec’d and priced. Both are going to be good bets for 4K streaming. I veto Roku because their developer experience needs to die in a fire. Brightscript is fucking lame.
Apple TV 4k (and the previous model) is great.
I dont wanna spend that much $$$
