Which technology stack makes the most money?

As a mobile app developer (in the state of Texas :p) for a good long time I have seen the skills of allot of developers (doing same thing day in and out) depleting. It gets boring and pay isn't that good either for mobile developers. I saw Amazon paying 117 k max for an Android engineer (I guess they need fluency in Kotlin) in Austin. So who in the tech world (other than the boss) makes the most money as technologist? Who are these people making 300 K 400 K with bonuses and stocks?

All of our software engineers, whether they work on Android apps, or Chrome or Gmail ECT, make within the same salary range for every level. Everyone is over 117 and most senior engineers are over 300. So stop thinking of yourself as a mobile Dev. You are a software developer who happens to be working on apps at the moment.

I agree with the statement. But you are wrong about entry level. Just so you know there are developers who have been developing apps since 7 or 8 years and still making 110 k or a bit more. Do you really think there experience would have been of an entry level?

You have to understand @Google might be talking Bay area salary while 110k or 117k in Austin is as good as 200k in bay area

Most money is probably using Verilog or whatever for making custom chips for trading firms

Mobile developers are still in high demand. They make the same as any other software engineer at FB.

Our max is a bit higher than 117k, friend. Thing is, amazon doesn’t have a job code for “Mobile Development Engineer.” You’ll have to pass the SDE bar.

    • Glassdoor salary information is worthless except as a floor. they factor in all of the information they've gathered since the company's founding including data from five or six years ago when salaries were 50 to 70% what they are now.

it’s how much value you’re providing would get you the greater amount of money, doesn’t matter what language or technology it is. but the type of problem you’re solving

Are you saying the value provided over the cost of working extra weekends long hours or are you saying with in 8 hrs? Or let's be realistic 9 to 10 hrs

the value of the problem you’re solving over the price they’re paying you. has nothing to do with the amount of hours you’re working...

I disagree... I want to explain why but just don't have the energy to argue this point. But to be fair it's a different perspective.
