Who here is part of a solid product team?

Not engineering team, but a really solid product team. 1 PM, 1 project manager, 8-10 SWEs, 1 designer or some variation where everyone pulls their weight and ends up creating real customer/business value. Some of my dear pals at Microsoft don’t believe these really exist and that good products emerge from throwing engineers at a problem until it goes away. TC 375k

Following, curious myself. And hey, same for Salesforce, if anyone knows. I like your optimism, OP.

I have been on several. It takes a phenomenal PM who can orchestrate all of the moving parts and keep the team on vision.

Not only that they think 4 steps ahead and actually defines a vision. They are like directors who have the full movie in their mind, frame by frame and need actors, support staffs to demonstrate and capture the same.

Small company with exceptionally good CEO who manages product hands on.

We have many teams like that.

I currently work on a great product team. At Microsoft I worked on an internal tool with very bright engineers, but we were laughably bad as a product team. Microsft has good product teams, but they are few and far between. Most are awful, especially internal tools.
