It is cheaper to install nets on the company buildings than fire someone from mgmt or executive team. Amazon and Foxconn are good examples.
I was about to say the same thing
Profiteering off a death for subscriptions and views. Stay classy techlead. I’m sure this is exactly what Qin’s family wants. That doesn’t absolve Facebook work culture, maybe his situation there had a role, but guaranteed this dude has zero meaningful context on the guy’s death. Douche.
I guess that’s...something. It still serves an aggregate purpose of driving subscriptions which net him more views over time and getting notoriety via news articles and places like digg. That matters a lot more than the ad views from just this single video and gives him a way to weasel out responsibility for his moral turpitude. Speculating on anyone’s death when profit is in play and when you don’t know anything is morally indefensible.
Can’t raise awareness if you’re worried about being called a douche. I agree 100% with the comments above but also see that if it hadn’t been for techlead nothing would have come out of it. The incident probably wouldn’t even make it out of the Blind posts in the internal fb page. Techlead is a douche. Techlead shed some light. Gonna out myself as Ben Shapiro and say that two things can be true at once
This guy is a total loser. I don’t think the PSC culture is toxic at all. I’m held accountable to deliver shit. That’s the definition of working....Want toxic? Try Amazon where we let go under performers on the regular. Can’t handle the stress? Get help. Don’t like delivery deadlines? Maybe you should consider not being in the workforce. You don’t get to do whatever you want, when you want, how you want. Having worked at Google, Amazon, and FB it’s no different. I actually think the PSC isn’t that bad compared to what I’ve experienced before.
So much entitlement in this industry
You don’t seem to understand the difference between having accountability for deliverables and work place bullying. Just because a bunch of us are lucky and haven’t been on the receiving side of things does not mean managers abusing power and deliberately running people down does not exist. It happens every where because douchery exists every where. That fact that you and I haven’t been unlucky enough to be on receiving end does not negate the suffering and bullying many people are put through. You want to fire someone, sure just go for it, rip off the band aid and be fucking done. It’s gross when managers use people with false promises for their personal growth like showing reduced attrition until their perf review is over and then shitting on them.
Techlead :), although to be fair he claims he was already fired. PSC isnt a culture. Maybe you mean pay for performance culture? If so that's usually the practice of most private enterprises. I believe only government work pays for tenure rather than performance?
PSC?
😂 techlead is going to regret not monetizing that video. He’s getting so much views from these links.
I think that is differentiator factor, and he is earning respect by not monetizing on someone’s death.
Also meets most doesn’t prevent transfer. This guys has his info wrong.
There is no relationship between performance and pay at FB consistently. There is a significant share of tenured morons at FB who are acting as Russian autocrats thinking that anyone who works under them is a peasant that deserves to be crushed. That’s the problem. Performance is code word for ass licking.

Psc culture exists in many other companies in tech. Not only Facebook
What is PSC culture?
