Why India can’t build top tech companies like China?
Because China bans US internet companies like Google/Facebook/Uber/AWS/MSFT. While our Indian CEOs of US companies help their companies to beat Indian competitors in India. Shame on them. We should also ban US and even some China companies (I don’t like Tik Tok, it is so stupid). We should build our own Internet companies instead of body shops. Indians are the most hard working people in the world, and we deserve better. Not just H1B slaves

Here are a few reasons 1., the entitled attitude of how Indians are the smartest/hard working people. Without any data whatsoever to support the claim. 2. Inability to understand that Sundar and Nadella and many like them are American citizens. 3. Unwillingness to accept India's problems, both infrastructural and cultural. Several aspects of Indian culture from marriages to education are very superficial and narrow minded
This. Indian here and I feel ashamed whenever some jingoistic compatriot starts beating his chest proclaiming we are the greatest in the world. We insist on clinging to Indian origin CEOs for solace. India has a much longer road to traverse before we get there and probably won't happen in my lifetime.
Point 2 is wrong ! Yes they are US citizens! But they were born and raised in India! Know that to be a CEO of any company in US you need to be citizen ! So that doesn’t discredit india

Ali, baidu, tecent, Huawei, didi, xiaomi, meituan, toutiao, etc. There are probably 100 China tech companies worth more than yahoo (before sold)...
If you believe the Indian CEOs of US companies should not beat their competitors and defer to them because of their country of origin, they would not become CEOs of their companies with those attitudes. It's easy to say what others should do. Are you on an H1B?

There are two main reasons: Indian red tape and lack of advanced infrastructure. India still suffers from old fashion and inefficient business and regulatory environment. The second is lack of infrastructure. Have you compared the infrastructure in China vs India? I have travels to both countries multiple time. China is more that 25 years ahead of India in infrastructure.
China now has enomrous amount of debt by building all these infrastructures, which probably won't last long due to their poor quality of work. Their economy is slowing down and shaky and will implode sooner or later.
