Being No.1 in the world, with so many talents in the company, Microsoft still pays much lower than those younger companies. Revenue is growing beautifully. Stock is promising. Product line is secondary to none. Future is promising. Everything is good except pay.
I got offers from Google Microsoft Uber and Bloomberg. Microsoft paying most considering COL. So 🤷🏻♂️.
Could you please share the offer details ? Didn’t know that MS beats Google’s offer
My msft offer also beat google
"product line is secondary to none" - except in cloud (AWS), laptops (Apple), phone os (everyone else), Enterprise productivity (Google), personal assistants (Alexa, Siri, Google assistant), and gaming consoles (Sony)
Haha nice one Lyft (Uber)
Enterprise Productivity to Google? I’d love to know how you came up with that. Let’s not forgot all the Office Products including Outlook. Microsoft Windows far outnumbers Mac OS in the consumer market and enterprise environment.
As my dad used to say, the price of something is dependent on how willing someone else is to pay it. It takes two, buyer and seller. Microsoft can lowball all they want but they’ll have to pay more if no one accepts.
I guess enough people accept though. Hence the low pay.
Product line is second to none 😏
Vote with your feet
Number 1 at what? Being the oldest doesn't mean best lol
I think msft aims to be 66th percentile in the industry. At least it was back in the day.
Because they can. Although they offered me as much as FB.
What's the TC at Microsoft for a new grad?
Extremely competitive. Depends on lots of factors, previous internship, interview performance, advanced degree and competing offers. The best new grad, bachelors offers I've seen are 120/200/50 in seattle.
From what I’ve heard, their new grad offers are competitive. They even offer more stocks to new grads than sde-2.
