Was just watching Fox News and CNN for a good hour. Is it some type of job requirement that all the women have to be beautiful? And wearing very tight dresses and tons of makeup? Is that really necessary to give political commentary. Maybe Fox I understand because they at least are honest and don’t claim to be super feminist. But CNN claims its values are aligned with feminism and that the traditional gender roles are oppressive. Have you seen Brooke Baldwin or SE Cupp??? Are you really going to claim those are the smartest women they could find? There really aren’t any less attractive women that can give more valuable political analysis?
That's a great idea actually, shame CNN into hiring the ugliest anchors possible
They should be shamed! Those hypocrites. They should put their money where their mouth is, hire smarter women that are uglier, and lose ratings!
You don't see any bad looking men hired by the networks either.
Are you kidding? There are plenty of ugly men on TV. Most of the big names with very few exceptions.
Every guy on FOX News looks like an alcoholic high school teacher or depressed banker.
SE Cupp was on Fox a lot as a contributor before moving to CNN. A lot of it is makeup. Most of them are old and have a lot of touch-up. SE Cupp doesn't look nearly as good in person. Aside from that, the people who make it to the big leagues generally realize appearance is a big part of television. Keeping your looks is apart of professionalism. Brett Baier and Tucker both look both look very good and young for their age. If you're going to dedicate your life to video journalism, you're not going to compromise yourself because you're too stubborn to look good. Also the ugly fat feminists are often have unlikable views, personalities, and looks so noone wants them on TV.
Amen to the last para
But the men look like moldy socks tho. Lou Dobbs looks like a muppet that a dog’s been chewing on.
Yeah, it’s true for news and, well, media in general. The entire industry is sexist despite talking about feminism blah blah. The reason: Sex sells.
Exactly. Just realized it’s super hypocritical for the very same news anchors to be blabbing about feminism while they themselves wouldn’t have their jobs if they weren’t hot. They are totally fine with discrimination against ugly women
It’s in basically every industry. Big companies hot secretaries/admins, VCs hiring hot women as admins/researchers too. The most beautiful women I saw in one place were at a VC firm I pitched to. One of the most well-respected. No way in hell that hiring was merit-based.
Counter point : Martha Raddatz.
Dude you just watched for an hour. Mission accomplished
My favourite are Kate Bolduan and Dana Bash. I'd marry either of them if I could 😃
I agree with you on Kate. But I was about to give Dana Bash as an example of someone unattractive on CNN. :P
It's called MAKE UP
Don't forget fake glass
So you fall for makeup?
+ transparent scholarly glass
On TV? Better be good looking!
