Why are companies so damn slow !

Oct 30 13 Comments

I gave 2 online assessments, 20 days and 12 days ago. I mean it's either true or false answer, why the hell do companies take SO LONG to send feedback ??! I know processes at big firms are slow but as I said it's a true/false situation and most of the work is automated by the testing platform like code ran correctly/compiled/tests passed or not.

In my opinion it’s lack of respect to you . Idk why HR personnel are in general so bad . I just went through 6 interviews with Blackrock.I was told I was one of 5 candidates that they chose among 85 , and even though they made a final decision on Monday , they didn’t bother telling me.until today when I sent a msg to the hiring manager . That says a lot about the company , will think twice before applying to other positions .

Some companies won't bother telling you if you're a rejected at all. Fortunately that's starting to change. But it's still a manual touch and sometimes there are 1000 candidates for a given few. It takes time.

Maybe the problem is that you "gave" the assessments as opposed to "completed" or "performed". Maybe they just didn't know how to handle someone giving them an assessment.

As others have stated, it varies. Some companies are nice enough to say at least an automated No. However the rule of thumb for Online assessment is 2 days to a week.

Pass or fail isn't determined by whether or not the test cases pass. They actually loom st your code. Takes time if there are 100 applicants.
