LOL you got this all wrong. Waves of Chinese immigrants came to the Bay Area way before Indians did. Majority of engineers were Caucasians, Chinese, and Vietnamese. It's only over a decade ago that I saw huge waves of Indians come over.
I don't really care too much but I don't understand why all this talent from India and China aren't staying in their countries and contributing to those societies and economist. Don't they want their home land to prosper?
I read news articles on CNBC on how there are more billionaires in Asia than in the US and how the cost of living and housing in dense/high tech areas is ridiculous to the point that it is cheaper to live in US. I know for the people in China, they're able to buy houses in the Bay Area because it's cheaper and afforable ere than in their motherland. They all pay in cash too. It's not that they don't want to stay in their home countries to better their country, it's that it is easier in America.
