You would think that all the black and brown people should move to the most liberal places like Seattle, Portland , Vermont , SF , Maine , Colorado. However those are the places with the least racial diversity . In Virginia, none of my black co-workers want to live in Seattle or Portland . Why is this ?
Portland
Maine, Vermont are not particularly liberal, SF is not white. Chicago, NYC, DC are pretty liberal with plenty of black, brown populations.
None of that is true at all! Maine and Vermont are about as blue as blue gets For the rest, the suburbs are extremely white and extremely liberal.
Lol you should take a look at the demographics and political leanings of Maine and Vermont. Bernie Sanders is an outlier, even many conservatives in Vermont vote for him. Maine, outside of the cities, is pretty red. I’m not saying that Vermont is more conservative than Texas, I’m just saying it’s a bad example of a super “liberal” place. Agreed that suburbs are white, but Chicago suburbs are fairly conservative, and the inner city, which is mostly black, is extremely liberal.
Because they only pretend to like black people but They’re actually afraid of them
That explains why they hate the south and most of the midwest
Everyone gets along in the south and there is less segregation
+1 to SrfrBoi. The liberal places are the ones where people have enough disposable income to step back and get a sense of cultural perspective. That disposable income prices out those who are held back by economic and opportunity inequality. Those factors reinforce each other and perpetuate the problem. That also explains why homeless people flock to these places - the liberal politics encourages support for them, and also they can absorb more risk since they are already homeless. No home to lose means they can afford to camp out - hopefully temporarily - while they try to dig themselves out of their situation. Or for those who do not have the mental wherewithal, to take advantage of better options for subsidized care.
Byron Bay, in Australia, is an example of a liberal town with great community support for the homeless, and as a result, there are people sleeping on the street everywhere you look. OTOH this is not relevant to race. Australia is white AF - at least NSW and Qld are, from my experience.
Lived in three places of your examples - Maine, Vermont and SF. ME and VT did not have African American population during slavery period in US and they do not have huge cities to draw diverse population from different parts of the country. There are white liberals living there mostly of European descent. African American population is typically seen in the states where there had been slavery 200 years ago or closeby states and in all the big cities.
They feel offended for others when the other people aren't offended most of the time
Good question! Look up the Great Migration then look up the Great New Migration. Interesting stuff. Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Dallas, DC, Nashville are mostly attracting Black professionals instead of those areas you mentioned. Part of this is likely a return to roots from the Migration. The other is the better job opportunities & lower COL.
Here’s your answer: Cost of Living and centuries of structural racism.
Sheep
Saying “Sheep” is only slightly easier than learning something, @done2, when I just explained it to you.
