Why are some of the vegetables (cabbage, cauliflower, onions etc) in grocery stores abnormally huge? I fear if they are injected with chemicals to make their sizes bigger. I don’t see such huge sizes in markets of Asian countries (India, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore etc)
Don't be jealous of the massive American 🍆
Is that genetically modified as well ? 😲
Agriculture here is a big business, with lots of science applied to it. You can purchase organic, non gmo produce - but you'll have to look for it. Much of the largest produce is grown now in Mexico, central and South America, all of which have excellent weather. Have you seen the size of Mexican papayas?
That's what she said
I mean just normal breeding of plants can make significant differences. The original corn has only a few kernels...
Same way chicken are also big there
Full of antibiotics
GMO crops
People crapping on gmo food here. Go read a bit and get educated about gmo. Also using antibiotics is not same as gmo. Non-organic and non-gmo aren't same thing either. Everything since the age of agriculture has been GMO
You are actually just getting smaller
It’s the science and metrics used by big agriculture. But to a lesser extent GMO etc. Don’t worry it’s perfectly safe. If anything you should be worried about the pesticides. If so, buy organic. Americans get cancer from bad diets (other than vegetables), bad lifestyle (no exercise) and because it’s more likely when you live longer.

Murica... genetically modified
I suspected that. Is it even safe to eat such produce? I wonder if this could be the reason of widespread cancer ailment in this country because your basic produce which you eat everyday is hardly available in its natural form.
You’re kidding yourself if you believe Americans actually eat vegetables. We definitely have an increase in cancer due to what we eat, but not from the vegetables.
