Is it recruiter bias or low lack of opportunities? Less than 2% of leadership roles in tech companies go to women https://www.hackerearth.com/recruit/resources/insights/women-in-tech/?utm_source=rajnish&utm_medium=Hn
How about just general disinterest? Why are there so few men in teaching and nursing?
But it’s statistically true. Literally google it. It’s fact. Not sexist.
Facts are racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic, cis gender, patriarchy, capitalist, white male.
I’m sure there’s some unintentional discrimination happening at the promotion level, but I think the main problem is the majority of computer science graduates are men. As women continue to enroll in cs degrees I think things will even out. At least for entry level positions where I work you could argue we discriminate against men by interviewing only women in an attempt to even out the male to female ratio.
Now you know that this is bullshit. Dozens of women get rejected compared to men. You are sitting in your Ivory tower trying to shame others when you yourself are doing it.
Stop trolling @FastPapuan. You know that Adobe is right, so STFU
Same reason why top athletes are male
Oooooh it's true but not relevant at all.
Why are most coal miners men? Let's fix that problem too while we're at it
Also construction workers and Frontline military personnel.
Lack of interest, both in Computer science, and then in getting into high leadership levels once in there
This article gives some reasons. https://www.inc.com/minda-zetlin/stanford-research-explains-lack-of-women-in-tech-men-make-them-unwelcome-before-they-even-apply.html
So wait a girl works her butt off and gets a comp sci degree, but doesn’t apply because it’s all men. That would probably be true if 50% of tech grad were women. But that is not the case.
If you are interested in facts and willing to look things up without prejudgment, you will find that there were many women pursuing computer science in the past. Over the years, this number has been slowing down. https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2014/10/21/357629765/when-women-stopped-coding
Move all women to tech, so in a few years hospitals, law firms, etc. will all ask the same question: where did all the women go?
Not a single 100 meter dash record has been held by female athletes. This is an blatant example of sexism in 2018. How do you fix this horrendous issue?
How many female classmates do you know in university that are studying CS?

This is simply the result of less women than men going into stem fields. Fix the root problem of girls getting into stem, the result will change. It's simple math. If more men in total go into a career field, there will consequently be more qualified men than women to hold higher positions in that field.
True
Bullshit.
