Why are there so many microsoft "CTOs" on linkedin?
If you search microsoft cto, there's a ton of people claiming to be the cto of microsoft. Not even cto of a business unit, just cto at microsoft

CTO got autocorrected to "bro microsoft" and there are over 12k results. Lot of bros at microsoft.

Every business unit has a CTO. In services every domain has a cto. Though these are all business it roles not the tech savvy roles. Someone above said it right. Titles aint mean shit at Msft. Even regular titles in sales and services like specialists (what a low baller), csa ( lol at Architect name in the end), PFEs ( seriously engineers!?.. i would say advisors/experts), consultants ( yeah a consultant and MCS has the same image). I can go on and on..but who cares. In the end its what you do makes it imp ;)
I see your point but if someome is a cto of a business unit, say that. Dont say cto of microsoft. It only takes a google search to prove theyre wrong. Just really cringey in my opinion.
I agree in linked in.. they should atleast mention that in the profile if not on the title

Maybe a glitch. I once put on my resume that I worked for the “world leader of” some tech niche product (and they are). So when I applied to eBay they picked out world leader as my job title and recommended some very high up management jobs.
