- Have to be at the office at 7am

- Websites are blocked like Stackoverflow, Github, Reddit etc.

- No admin rights, i cant even run docker.

- No Wifi or free snacks.

- Have to dress business casual

P.S
Got a new offer over 177% in salary increase, wont be here for long.

Bad manager. Bad manager. Bad manager.

With every job change, there is always a significant increase. However, I have never started looking for a job, because of money. It is always a bad manager.

Well trust me, you seem like you're doing good for yourself which is by far the most important thing that people select for. Someone out there will definitely like you for who you are and not be a total creep.

Your manager owns your happiness. While you’re off building products with code, they’re supposed to be building you up. That means if you have a legitimate problem, they shouldn’t stop working up the chain until they hit the CEO. If the CEO can’t get it resolved, GTFO.

I was getting extremely stressed out, and sought treatment from an obese hypnotist. During the session, he suffered a terminal heart attack and left me in a perpetual state of hypnotic indifference towards any and all stresses in life. After deciding to no longer show up at work, I survived a round of layoffs at my company and actually got promoted. I started embezzling money from my employer; that didn’t turn out so well, but I managed to avoid prosecution through a series of fortunate events. I’m now working a construction job and banging Jennifer Aniston.

How is a 2k computer worth more than a 200k engineer

I was a network admin at a small startup. I had the boss's accounts locked out of the servers. He came to me one day and yelled "I need to be able to FUCK. UP. any machine in this office!" Company went from bad to worse and I left after about a year.

I had a toxic boss and a toxic boss' boss who set out to make an example of me to the others in my department. Expectations were never clearly laid out for me but my performance criticism was ruthless. The company is ripe with nepatism and they take advantage of kids from other nations. This is one example of many, but there was one time my manager asked to see me in the hallway, I agreed as any employee would. We start walking towards the executive level offices, I get a stunning feeling in my gut. I see my manager is holding a folder, I ask where we're going, she dodges the question. We end up in the owners wife's office (she's also lead counsel of this software development company) who's my manager's boss. We sit down, and the lead counsel ask's my manager, "did you bring that performance evaluation I asked for?" My manager proceeds to pull the"evaluation" out of this folder and they grill me relentlessly. I asked to see the review, and they refused, told me I had no right to review it.

This software development company also takes graduate students, typically from countries other than the USA, and underpay them with the dissolution that they'll help the kids get a work visa or even citizenship. It's all a lie. I could go on but won't.

Probably the sales culture. Any sales-driven culture creates a lot of silly bullshit.

There’s a lot of vaporware bullshit at Salesforce. Some sales people want to show “exciting vision” and think that demo’s are the way. And then very little real progress happens because nobody wants to commit to specific directions.
      Nov 13
    • Salesforce billlll
I’m not saying they have huge egos because they worked for someone else. They just have egos. Period. They are pretty good engineers. I won’t lie. But they aren’t managers. They can’t help but micromanage till the very last detail. They’re just really bad managers. And no one cares because everyone’s bringing over their favorite child from their previous company and you can’t go against these people. It’s a battle you’ll end up losing almost all the time. You’d rather stay away since there’s similar work being done in many other companies.
