I have one it's been 3 years. No slowdown. It's my primary Dev machine. Did you get a signature edition or the one with a shit ton of bloatware?
I think itβs more Windows than Dell causing the slow down
Run Linux. Problem solved.
Donβt use the ones I make...
I have a surface book. Still good, tons of porn malware at this point, but still pretty solid.
Which, I will say, is only because you mentioned .net. if you can get away with Linux I think it's nicer.
Dell laptops are shit. I cry everyday at work when using Dell Precision 5520. And If Dell poor quality was not bad enough we have a mega disaster and total train wreck called windows 10 on it.
Had a dell laptop, switch to a MacBook Pro and my life changed for the better. Solid dev machines
Echoing the Mac sentiment here. And hey, if you want windows, you can run that shit OS in a vm.
I am dell employee and my brand new dell machine is 5x slower than my 2013 MBP. The amount of filth filth that is preinstalled on that machine is not funny. The whole experience stinks!!!
MacBook Pro 15 inch, maxed out options

I second this.
