Why do older white men hate women getting promoted and recognized? Not all of them of course but good number of them.

I've come into contact with some older (over 50) white men who are clearly upset when they see women getting recognized and promoted. Why is this?

      @njGx08 Statistically, yes. I believe in statistics. We have hired too many diverse candidates than there available. We lowered the hiring bar.

      Now the diverse candidates that have strong merit are swamped by and associated with the majority that have no merit.

      Diversity programs harm diverse candidates. Well, diversity programs harm everyone because they make America less profit and degrade companies. The programs are an attack on competence and racially discriminate against white males.

      Another nasty side effect is cis white males are now heavily preferred when hiring. Teams are starving for competence. HR forces them to waste head count on incompetent diversity hires. If they convince HR to hire a white dude statistically he’s going to be really competent. He made it through the fiery hurdles set against him...

      So congratulations you dumb liberals. You have actually managed to create racism where there was none, and it is aimed in the exact opposite direction than intended. All of these negative effects happened because the hiring bar was artificially lowered.

      It's unfair and a bit harsh calling all promotions of women to be without merit. But it's a fact that diversity programs are designed to lower the bars for women or worse yet, when both man and woman are equally qualified for a job, the woman is "always" chosen over man.

      Men of other races (not only white) are victims too! And it happens frequently here!

      Sounds like an issue with your specific "diversity program", which frankly sounds like affirmative action. I can confidently say that my company has not lowered the bar while also considering the possibility that competent candidates exist outside the pool of cis white males.

    I have seen non-white guys getting upset of "unfair" promotions and trashing ones who got them.

    You're probably white and thats why they're opening up to you. If you're non-white, the non-whites will open up the hate swamp to you as well.

    “Older” people appreciate promotions based primarily or even exclusively on merit, not race or gender.

    Some companies are so desperate to appear progressive they have essentially thrown merit out the window.
