General question about why you're satisfied with your career choice. For those who are happy as a developer or SWE, why?
For me, the feeling of excitement when you actually build something and see it working beats everything else. Tried moving into managerial jobs and got bored and frustrated dealing with people issues. Machines donβt have feelings and hence no issues. :)

I like that the industry changes so fast, it keeps things from becoming too boring
Mad fun coding in C++ and Python and seeing something evolve over time.
A sense of control due to computers behaving rationally.

I enjoy bringing order and structure to the data, the object modeling of it, their relationships, the abstraction and seeing all work together. I enjoy the expressiveness of the languages and how newer versions improve the way we can translate the ideas into code. If I truly have my pick, Iβll take the job that gets me to bring order to big chaos, but most financially viable and desirable directions revolve more around building the next big innovation, the next big product.
I enjoy writing code, designing user interfaces, setting up servers/cicd, and messing around with new technologies. I started pretty young. Then I discovered that they will pay for it. So it was a natural choice
