9-5 feels like forever.

8-4 I’m amazed how fast the day goes

Your commute gets cut and emptier office means more work that makes you forget time till the shenanigans start.

I’ve done that before. It feels about the same as 8-4. Diminishing return

When do you go for lunch? Assuming typical 12 to 1pm, the post lunch session being just 3 hours might be giving you the feeling that the day is going quicker. We somehow get fixated mentally with lunch being the midpoint of the day even when it’s not always so

Also, it's easier when you have the feeling that you are ahead of time. That makes you productive.

No it's good. Depends on team and how much you want to make an effort. I could work less but I still want to get something done

You're so right. I wish I did 8-4 badly. Would have more of my day. But I'm in EST so we have to kinda match with PST people
