Why is Salesforce one of the best places to work?

Like the title suggests. Along with some FAANG companies, Salesforce almost always dominates various ‘best places to work’ list. Just wondering what kind of benefits do they provide to merit such raving reviews?

If you are a sweeper, you get paid for what you do. If you are a software engineer, you should get paid for what you *can* do.

Why does the salesforce building in SF look like a butt plug?
    May 29 5
    • Salesforce nvm ohana
It’s not a butt plug. It’s a dick. And our dick is bigger than all your dicks

Well then Benioff has a weird looking dick. Did he travel to Thailand earlier? You can get some strange STDs from those lady boys.

The intangibles. I feel pretty safe here and things are generally low stress. People are treated with respect. We don’t have FANG benefits but we are certainly top notch compared to other enterprise companies.

Everyone will complain about something wrong with their company. People who get free lunch will complain that they don’t get free dinner. People at Salesforce who complain about things have never worked at a true traditional company. Go work at a bank and see what your life will be like.

Like I said, not FANG. It’s enterprise software. But it’s not the worst ever, 320k/8yoe. And I work about 35-40hrs a week. FANG are also frequently at the top of the list too.

You could be at IBM or Wells Fargo making 150k instead. Perspective

They have everything in par with FAANG except for Free food. They pay pretty well (Base 200K, TC: 320K, YOE: 5)

WLB(far better than Facebook or Amazon)
    Thursday WFH day.
Stocked snack options (fruits, breakfast, coconut water, brewed tea in tower, ice cream etc)
    Company's mobile phone.
Wellness 100$ credit for gym etc
Love their Salesforce Tower office (Search #salesforcetower on Instagram)
Barista for free coffee (not the crappy break room ones)
    Unlimited PTO.
Most importantly they treat their employees very well

If food is a deal breaker then this is not the company for you. :) For everything else it’s on par(if not better)

Thank you for such a comprehensive answer. Maybe one day I can work for a company like Salesforce

Wfh Thursday is the official wfh day but it’s very flexible, on average people in my cloud basically come in every other day. Unlimited pto really means unlimited ptos, people I know take anywhere from 4 to 5 weeks off including me. And maternity and paternity leave of 6 months or something.

No free food at salesforce though

Free food isn’t an actual perk. It’s a way to keep you at the office and not leave your desk. Salesforce cares more about their employees than most big corps
      May 29
    • SAP Man
Free food at SAP, though. @Cisco, most people at top tier jobs don't eat at their desk. That's bologna sandwich tier.

Yeah that’s true but when you are wfh a lot there is no point in free food. Wfh > free food

I say we are right after FAANG. Pay is high enough, sfdc is a big company but they do their best to care for their employees. No stress, better than average pay, lots of wfh.

    Money.

Ask a FAANG engineer and they’ll laugh at these so called rankings, except probably G folks who seem to have better lives comparatively.

The work is fairly stagnant. From an infra perspective we play hyperscaler without really doing anything novel. The pay is ok, certainly lower than FAANG; but remote work is more of a possibility.
