Aren’t tech stocks raising since long time? Why would VGT be a high risk ETF then?
I'm a holder of VGT. It is risky because even it is diversified in tech sector, it is not diversified enough. Imagine a tech bubble burst like 2000s. My current biggest question is even the overall tech stocks seem overvalued, but I fail to see where there might be a bubble that might lead to a total crash... I don't think overpricing itself means bubble since it could factor in the growth potential. The tech companies are creating values and are making the pie bigger...
What percentage of your holding is in VGT?
Costs is 3.6% but consists of 8.8% of my total gain. I didn't put a lot into it after initial purchase but seeked for wider range of growth indexes. I'm still holding a long position, but you may consider doing SQQQ for some hedging.
It’s high risk if only because it’s only investing in a single sector.
How would you decide whether something is high risk or low risk in the first place?
You can’t. That’s the truth.
