Don't all telecom companies help the government spy on their people? I mean if the government issues a warrant, what can these telecom companies do? I mean is there anyone on this platform that wouldn't give the government information if they send you a document saying that you must according to the country's laws? Don't really understand why it's the telecom company's fault and not the politician or the country's fault? https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/14/huawei-employees-helped-african-governments-spy-on-opponents-wsj.html
The funny thing is every country has systems setup to monitor and track citizens. The US just does a good job of acting like it doesn’t happen. It’s nobody’s fault. You need people to be monitored to have a safe country. I would argue that governments are doing a horrible job at detecting shooters and other people that can cause issues.
It's a big deal when the vendor spies and shares information with it's home country. The claim is that Huawei would share sensitive information with Chinese government.
Yes under the banner of public safety thats still understandable. However, under the pretense of the former, spying on the opponent(link you shared) - that aint the right approach nor it should be the law.
Think of the atrocities that have already been inflicted upon humanity under the guise of protection of the people. The Nazi regime literally thought they were protecting their people from other people. Look how that turned out. Be wary of the man with a gun who insists that you need his help to protect you from other men with guns.
You’re comparing technological security systems to nazis? Hahahaha
I'm illuminating parallels, yes.
Disagree. All telcos don't help the government to spy on people. At least not in the US. Yes, we do help law agencies with certain information but that's it. No spying for sure. I can guarantee that.
There is a huge difference between lawful intercept and espionage

Is your company off-shoring jobs?
difference is that Huawei isn't operating as a telco; they're an equipment manufacturer that's doing this. It's like if Google used 3rd party vendor and didn't approve about spying but the device maker for Google hardware (that's not Google) spied on you.
