Considering how often people from FB complain about the terrible WLB (60+ hours a week), is it really worth the extra 20-50k a year to stay at FB? I get that not everyone at FB can pass the Google hiring bar, but if you got into FB then you can probably get into MS. Sure you'll get paid a bit less but you'll get to work 40 hours a week and then spend that time with family, friends, gf, or try to get a gf if you're currently alone due to spending all your time working for Zuck. What's keeping most of you from making the jump from FB to Microsoft or a similar company with slightly lower pay but way better WLB?
Because seattle.
Most people work in FB Seattle or MPK which is even worse
Facebook has better perks and products to work on imo so idk why someone would leave. Also it’s $20-50k at entry levels. Around senior levels and higher it’s $100k+
And refreshers. Last I hear before MS upped theirs it was quite a bit lower. But if MS can compete on interesting work, better WLB and similar comp then great we have efficient markets!
Microsoft didn't up refreshers. They gave special stock awards to some people, but no promise comp was up.
Because it's Microsoft 🤮. I would only consider NG in FANG at this point, or a unicorn.
Try for Uber, we have decent wlb and free food, Corp phone if you want it, and Uber credits 🐱
No Free food, but other than that, welcome.
How about you?
Considering it
Is bad wlb a common theme at Facebook? I read lots of such posts on daily basis
