Serious question: everyones expected to be inclusive from a societal perspective (which I agree and enforce wherever I can), but a lot of my coworkers express "preferences" in partnerships, business, hiring, personal preferences in friends and many other aspects in life. It bothers me a lot because it peddles inequality regardless of ur culture and race. Why is that ok?
Thatâs like saying: others bully so why should I be well behaved? If everyone thought that way, civilization would have ended before it ever took off. There are people who donât act fairly. Doesnât validate you wanting to act like a turd too.
No not at all. Being an educated Silicon Valley professional, you should know better. It's a valid question of why there should be different measuring sticks. Dick.
I feel you, OP. But if we don't save this galaxy, who will?
By that logic, if you're straight...you're a sexist in need of re-education. Damn, I'm guilty.
I get the netizen justice here for asking a legit question, but I think inconsistency doesn't do anyone any good
I want to be inclusive because I have those values, theyâre not imposed on me. Itâs just common sense for most people on great teams. Consider changing teams if that isnât your experience.
I have learnt to accept humans are flawed. They can't be fair . Be true to yourself, represent yourself. Don't worry too much about others.
Because... an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
I see what u did there. Or did u?
Makes sense on both interpretations đ
Inclusiveness should be advocated but never enforced. You never can make anyone like others by issuing an order. Some people are just crap, including their "culture" so including them is self-damaging. Our society is very stupid, it often acts upon buzzwords instead of reason. I have no solution to society stupidity, sorry
I feel you, bro People kill everyday. I feel we should be allowed to kill also. Like, on a national holiday. Or something. We can call it The Purge. #reductioAdAbsurdum
The very reason that âinclusivenessâ is being pushed is directly as a result of this subconscious bias. Thatâs the norm thatâs being improved.
