Why would anyone spend $5999 on a new mac pro

I don’t get it. Which particular aspect of mac pro makes it appealing to a normal user?

Definition of normal user:
1. Not a millionaire.
2. Not a dumbass who blindly prefers Apple products whatsoever.

Bro 4gb ram and i5 is so 2015. I want minimum 8 gb and i7 if you are checking code and building locally.

None. It’s a Mac “video” pro. Not for devs. Get over it and stop being butthurt.

This price point is really steep, I’d consider it but I’m not sure. I prefer macOS for getting work done and I feel like their laptops are not as performant as I want them to be for all of my uses. And I’ve never bought a iMac and their iMac Pro doesn’t appeal to me as much since I already have the monitors I need.

I have bought the two Mac Pros before and what would have been a Mac Pro (PowerMac G4) in my life so far. Maybe that puts me in the second bullet on your list.

I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do. I typically upgrade every 5-6 years. We are coming on six... part of my indecision also stems from questions about how upgradable this will be in two years beyond SSDs and RAM... I also need to see performance tests by barefeats before I would even consider it.

I’ve definitely considered it before, I’ll definitely have to take a second look now.

One of my big concerns about the new MacPro is I feel like there isn’t the right GPU option for me. I’d like dual cards but Vega cards are expensive.

People spend more on watches, clothing, wine etc. This is a computer and does a lot more. Seems like a good deal to me.

Not many people on blind are gonna be the target market, particularly for the insane top-end stuff. This is for video pros and fan boys/girls.
