Got hired by a company that lied about it's stability and market outlook during interview process, after years of reorgs and layoffs. Left for something more stable.
Always the same reason: I got fully vested, time for a new options package.
How you get fully vested, when you are given stock at review cycles that vest in years increments? Asking because I'm ready to move jobs but still have stock to vest for a few years (decreasing amounts though)
My refreshers are insignificant compared to the initial grant and the new company grant
Comp is certainly high on priority list. But, career growth trajectory and alignment of incentives keeps me motivated.
I value role/field switches around 50k-100k. That's how much it would cost to go back to school, not including lost income, and sometimes years it takes to find people willing to take a chance on you. Making more money doing something that no longer keeps me engaged isn't worth it. Of course everyone has a price, but it would need to be 2-3x for me current income to take over a new more interesting role.
Better team chemistry, more stable company and a 40% increase in comp.
Oh wow
I value nothing more than money when it comes to job ☝🏻
Sexism. And straight-up Harassment.
Given an opportunity for a much bigger scope job at much higher pay. The old job offered me the same pay, but it’s hard to argue with the new scope.
I’d love to say “for better XYZ” but here’s the real answer: - last place was a Dilbert strip. - they had a RIF and offered $ for people to leave (on top of severance) I finally got a clue. I was out of work for a bit, but it worked out okay. :)
