Wife looking at Oracle Certs

In the real world, would it be realistic for someone with Oracle Certs, specifically OCP/OCM. To break into a DBA role sans experience or a 4 year degree. She’d like to move on into a data science role. We’ve looked at local posting and most, even the associate roles, seem to require a CS degree. I’ve also heard that the market is low on DBAs so the degree requirements are often waived so they can get a body in the seat.

I don’t think certs are relevant anymore. Someone feel free to correct me

I’m a NetEng, I used to work in Seattle and yeah, no one cared about Cisco/juniper Certs. However, here in Texas most recruiters ask if I have Cisco Certs. I’ve even had a few decline to move further with me after I say my CCNP is a few years expired.

Huh. Well I don’t know about the south then. I’m 90% sure no one cares in the bay area.
