Hey there - anyone know if Uber negotiates on offers right now? I'm happy with the annual salary offer, but think their RSUs could be higher. 145k salary, 22k annual bonus, 171k in RSU $$ - not a #, vests over 4 years. Role is in People Development, 10YOE. The offer strikes me as good, but curious about negotiations.
Ask Jason Derulo!
That makes me feel old, because I don't get it...
Nvm lol. Bad joke since you used the word “wiggle”.
What role and how many yoe? Every offer is negotiable. But it is generally true that Uber is more resistant to negotiations. I negotiated hard and they barely budged on RSUs. Others have had more success. Much easier with another offer in hand. You should definitely try.
Yeah I think I probably could have gotten more if I hadn’t asked for more base, more rsus, sign on bonus and additional relocation funds. If I just went with my gut and asked for my top two probably could’ve made it happen.
Thanks - I'm trying. The role is in People Development, and I'm at 10 YOE. So it's not as potentially sexy as being a software engineer (from the threads I've read here so far).
so how did it go eventually? never good at negotiating anything so would love to hear any suggestions on tactics..

I tried lol I just got an offer and they were very insistent they couldn’t change the bands. That said my counter was a little high so I just said yes after they didn’t budge.
Thanks for writing. My recruiter seemed pretty honest about the defined bands, but I'm new to RSUs completely. Your offer was recent?
Literally got it on Friday and accepted today.
