I studied Amazon leadership principles so I am uncertain if Amazon will be willing to negotiate since frugality seems pretty important there. This is for Seattle office. I have competing for 80k higher. Curious how much I can negotiate
Amazon has a max salary. You can’t negotiate above that max. So you can negotiate TC but after your 4 year cliff (or 2 year, if it’s signing bonus), it’s all gone. If your 80k higher offer is mostly in salary, forget about it. If it’s mostly in stock, then there is room to negotiate.
Usually if they know you already have an offer they would not be able to match, they might not extend the offer to you.
WTF take the competing offer...
They will negotiate but there are pay bands for each level. They will not blow past the bands. Also it comes down to hm if they bump up the offer.
I can tell if you give YoE, offer level and TC! Will also help if you share the competing company name.
Base salary has a hard cap of 160k in all locations except NYC and SFO. In those locations is a bit higher.
Amazon is willing to negotiate and offer upper bound tc
